Google is preparing to unveil its new wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds 2a, on August 20th. The earbuds, which will debut alongside the Pixel 10 series and Pixel Watch 4, were revealed by Evan Blass ahead of the launch. According to leaked information, the Pixel Buds 2a will feature active noise cancellation (ANC).

The device offers 7 hours of playback time on a full charge. With the charging case, total listening time increases to 20 hours. The Pixel Buds 2a include spatial audio support but lack advanced audio features like head tracking.

Similarly, there’s no wireless charging in the box. Active noise cancellation is minimal. The absence of advanced technologies like Silent Seal 2.0, found in the Pixel Buds Pro 2, creates a significant difference in ANC performance.
In terms of design, the earbuds maintain Google’s clean lines. It will be available in two colors: Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (light white). The Pixel Buds 2a, spotted with their cases last week, feature a similar carrying case and in-ear design to previous models.
The markets where the Pixel Buds 2a will be available and pricing will be announced after the August 20th event. Google plans to offer a lower-priced alternative while retaining some of the features found in the higher-end headphones. All technical details about both the headphones and the new members of the Pixel device family will be revealed on the launch day.
