YouTube has added a new subscription option in Turkey. Previously tested in European countries like Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands but subsequently canceled, YouTube Premium Lite has entered the Turkish market with a revamped strategy. Priced at 49.99 TL per month, the Lite package primarily targets those who want to avoid in-video ads but don’t need the other features of Premium.
YouTube Premium Lite 49.99 TL
With the launch of Premium Lite, YouTube’s current subscription prices in Turkey are as follows:
- YouTube Premium Lite: 49.99 TL / Month
- YouTube Premium (Student): 52.99 TL / Month
- YouTube Premium (Individual): 79.99 TL / Month
One of the most notable points is the difference of only 3 TL between the Lite and Student packages. This makes the full-featured Premium package much more attractive to students.
So, what is the difference between the affordable Lite and the main Premium package?
The following features are not included in the Premium Lite package.
- Offline Video Downloads: You cannot download videos to watch when you don’t have internet access.
- Background Playback: The video or audio will not continue playing when you switch to another app or lock the screen.
- YouTube Music Premium: The music service, which provides ad-free access to over 100 million songs, is not included in this package.
- Not Completely Ad-Free: Despite the Lite subscription, you will still see ads in Shorts videos, music content, and search results.
