As the electric car world grows, technology companies also want to show up in this field. Finally, Reeder announced that it has started working for Turkey’s first 80 percent domestic electric car. The company announced that it will carry out a new project in its R&D department.
Reeder is developing an 80% domestic EV
In the statement made by Reeder to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), details about the first electric vehicle prototype were given. It was stated that the vehicle, developed in facilities in Samsun, will be unloaded from the tape on August 30, 2024.
The most striking point of the electric vehicle is the emphasis on 80 percent localization. The features of the model to be offered under the Reeder brand are unclear for now. The company announced that it will report the developments regarding the electric vehicle production process to the Capital Markets Board.
The official statement of the company on the subject is as follows:
“Within the scope of our company’s goals of bringing innovative and domestic technological products to the economy of our country, the work we carry out in our R&D department continues rapidly.
Within the scope of these studies, in line with our goal of producing the first Reeder branded electric vehicle, 80% of which is domestic, we aim to take our first test vehicle out of our production lines on August 30, 2024, in our electric vehicle project, which we make production plans in our production facilities in Samsun.”
The first electric vehicle produced by the company with domestic technologies is expected to be an important milestone for the Turkish automotive industry. We will see how Reeder will compete with its competitors in the future.
