Age of Mythology: Retold release date was highly anticipated. Age of Mythology: Retold, a real-time strategy game developed by World’s Edge and Xbox Game Studios, has finally been announced.
Age of Mythology: Retold release date is set for later this year
The remaster of the legendary game will be released simultaneously for Xbox and PC later this year. Players take on epic battles across different regions, fighting in single-player or co-op storylines, commanding Greek, Norse and Egyptian gods. Although the game has no clear release window, Age of Mythology will be available simultaneously on Steam and Xbox consoles in the early days of Game Pass.
Melinda Rose, the game’s art director, says in the announcement video: “In Age of Mythology Retold, not only are we upgrading the engine and bringing all the quality improvements you’ve come to expect from World’s Edge, but we’re doing more to update the art. That means all-new 3D models, all-new animations, textures, UI, VFX and more.”
To showcase Age of Mythology: Retold’s updated 3D character models, Rose revealed life-size augmented reality models of Medusa, Pegasus and Cerberus: “Our goal is not just to pay homage to the past, but to breathe new life into this game and present mythology at its best.”
In addition to the Age of Mythology: Retold release date, a mobile version of Age of Empires is also expected to be released later this year. In short, 2024 will be a glorious year for strategy games.
