The first concrete information about AMD’s new graphics card, the Radeon RX 9060, based on the RDNA 4 architecture, has surfaced. Positioned as a stripped-down version of the previously introduced RX 9060 XT, the card shares the same performance base as its predecessor. New leaks suggest the RX 9060 will directly compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060.

Like the XT version, the RX 9060 uses the Navi 44 graphics processing unit (GPU). The card boasts 2,048 stream processors, the same number as the RX 9060 XT. Memory remains the same, with users offering 8GB and 16GB of GDDR6.

However, the differences between the two models are primarily in their memory speeds. While the RX 9060 XT features GDDR6 memory running at 20 Gbps, the RX 9060 has this speed reduced to 18 Gbps. This change reduces memory bandwidth from 320 GB/s to 288 GB/s.
There’s a similarly small decrease in clock speed. The RX 9060 XT can reach up to 3,320 MHz in boost mode, while the RX 9060 is reportedly running at approximately 2,990 MHz. This represents a speed decrease of approximately 4 percent.
Conversely, the RX 9060 is more power efficient. The XT’s TDP is 150 W, while the RX 9060 is expected to draw between 130 and 140 W.
Physical and connection details regarding the card have also been revealed. The RX 9060, expected to operate with a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface, comes with two DisplayPorts and one HDMI port. With these features, the RX 9060 continues to offer up-to-date connectivity standards for desktop users.
Pricing leaks also suggest AMD will be aggressively positioning itself. The card is expected to be priced between $269 and $279 in the US market, positioning it directly against the RTX 5060.
While AMD hasn’t officially announced the card yet, the availability of technical details suggests the launch is nearing. The gap created by the RTX 5060 highlights AMD’s efforts to rebalance the mid-range market with the RX 9060.
