While AMD is drawing attention in the desktop processor market with its Zen 5 architecture Ryzen 9000 series, information about the new member of the series in the mid-segment Ryzen 5 9600X3D has begun to become clear. The technical specifications of the previously confirmed model have come to light with a new leak.
The Ryzen 5 9600X3D processor will be introduced
The Ryzen 5 9600X3D is based on AMD’s “Granite Ridge” silicon and is being developed with the Zen 5 microarchitecture. The processor has 6 cores and 12 threads. The most striking aspect of the model is that it offers a total of 96MB L3 cache with 3D V-Cache technology.

This capacity is provided by the second generation 64MB 3D V-Cache, which comes in addition to the 32MB standard L3 cache. AMD has previously implemented this strategy in the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 7600X3D models.
The clock speeds of the 9600X3D reach values close to the standard 9600X model in the same series. It is stated that the boost frequency can go up to 5.4GHz. The thermal design power (TDP) is determined as 65W. The processor comes with DDR5-5600 memory support and supports the AM5 platform. This means full compatibility with current systems.
The direct competitors of the Ryzen 5 9600X3D include Intel’s Core i5-14600K and Core Ultra 5 245K models. With this model, AMD seems to have taken a step towards offering 3D V-Cache technology not only to the upper segment but to a wider user base.
The processor’s release date has not been announced yet. However, it is claimed that it will first be available in major OEM systems and that retail sales will begin towards the end of the year. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
