AMD’s new Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor, designed for the high-performance gaming market, has begun appearing in global retail listings. Combining the Zen 5 architecture with 3D V-Cache technology, this new model has been spotted in the databases of some major tech stores in Switzerland and the United States.
Ryzen 7 9850X3D is coming
The prices listed for pre-orders or placeholders, even though the processor hasn’t been officially launched yet, show a price approximately 20% higher than its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

The price tag, seen at 473.55 CHF in Swiss listings, corresponds to around $553 in the US market. This indicates that the release of the new generation flagship processor will require a higher budget for gamers.
In terms of hardware specifications, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D retains its 8-core, 16-thread architecture. The processor’s power consumption (TDP) limit is set at 120W, while the L3 cache capacity, which directly affects gaming performance, remains at 96MB.
The most fundamental difference between this processor and the 9800X3D model lies in the clock speeds. The new model comes with a boost frequency reaching up to 5.6 GHz, representing an increase of approximately 400 MHz compared to its predecessor. This frequency advantage promises higher frame rates and a more stable experience, especially in competitive games that rely on single-core performance.
