AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 Arriving Before the End of September!
In a blog post, AMD stated, “We have continuously added innovations to AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, and we are excited to announce AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 in this latest release.” Although the exact Adrenalin driver version for this release has not been specified, it is expected to be available before the end of September.
AFMF 2 has been in beta testing for the past two months, following its preview release in July. As a result, AMD is anticipated to launch this technology with some enhancements before the official release. The first-generation AFMF, launched in January, was notable for being a driver-level technology that did not require game-specific optimizations. It worked universally across DX11 and DX12 games.

While AFMF 2 does not offer game-specific optimizations like FSR 3 or DLSS 3, it is expected to bring various improvements over the first generation. Notably, it may feature AI-optimized algorithms and enhancements that reduce latency. Performance issues experienced in fast-paced scenes with the first version are expected to be significantly addressed with AFMF 2.
This new technology promises a substantial performance boost, especially for users of lower-tier RX 6000 and RX 7000 series graphics cards. With the driver’s release coinciding with the launch of the PC version of God of War: Ragnarok, it is likely to be one of the most talked-about AMD Adrenalin drivers in recent months.
