Microsoft announced the integration of Anthropic’s Claude AI models into the Microsoft 365 Copilot platform. With this move, Copilot users can now experience Claude in complex research and AI agent development.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Offers Claude Integration
According to the announcement, Claude models are initially included in Copilot’s two main tools: the Researcher tool and Copilot Studio, the AI agent development platform.

Microsoft notes that Copilot’s core functionality still works with OpenAI’s latest models. However, beta testers can now try out the newly added Claude Opus 4.1 model.
Designed to manage complex, multi-step investigations, the Researcher tool is now supported by Claude with new functionality. A short video shared by Microsoft shows a new “Try Claude” button in the top right corner of the research agent’s interface.
A similar model option is also available within Copilot Studio. In this studio, users can easily choose between OpenAI and Anthropic models via a drop-down menu.
Claude integration is currently available through Microsoft’s Frontier beta program. Participants in the beta program must first register and consent to use this feature.
Wide-scale rollout is expected later. Microsoft emphasized that this integration is just the beginning and that Anthropic models will further enhance the Microsoft 365 Copilot experience.
