Ubisoft, a long-established name in the gaming world, has taken an unexpected step. The company has begun adding Steam achievements to some of its older Assassin’s Creed titles that are no longer available for purchase on Steam. The addition of multiple achievements to Assassin’s Creed 3 has particularly surprised players.
Ubisoft added Steam achivements to older Assasin’s Creed games
One of the first games to receive this update was Assassin’s Creed 3, released in 2012. Although the game is no longer available for sale on Steam, it has received a full set of achievements. The more recent version, AC3 Remastered, has not yet received this feature.

However, Ubisoft has stated that “achievements for Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered are coming soon,” indicating that the remastered version will also be receiving achievements.
Another game that received achievements is Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD, released in 2014. The HD version of the game, which was originally exclusive to PlayStation Vita, now also has Steam achievements. While it may seem odd to prioritize a discontinued game, it shows Ubisoft’s commitment to Steam.
The company had been signaling a return to Valve’s platform for a while, and these achievements could be seen as part of that process. Ubisoft’s goal may be to revitalize classic games in their Steam library and offer players a more comprehensive experience.
