Tech giant Google will soon release the stable version of its Android 14 operating system. There is a short time left for this and the company is still testing for new features. Today, it was revealed that Google is working on a feature related to showing full-screen ads on phones using Android 14.
Full screen ads will not be shown on Android 14!
As you know, there are various applications that send notifications that wake up the screen on Android. For example, Search, one of these applications, shows a notification that covers the entire screen in order to show it immediately when the call arrives.
When the screen is off, you may not see the call coming in. For this reason, this feature is very convenient for users. Unfortunately, there are also applications that abuse this feature.
The applications in question can use this ability, which exists to provide convenience for users, to show full-screen ads. This situation, of course, greatly reduces the user experience and leads to complete abuse.
Today, according to the information shared by technology editor Mishaal Rahman on the Twitter (X) platform, Google seems to bring a solution to this annoying problem with Android 14. So much so that it seems that the company will offer an option.
According to the screenshot shared by Rahman, users will be able to choose which apps can show full screen notifications. In this way, applications that show full screen ads can also be blocked. Moreover, the user will also be able to control the alarm and the Clock and Call application that shows the alarm and call arrival.
According to the reports, the Clock and Call applications installed on the phone will have the permission to show full-screen notifications by default. This will be the opposite in other applications. So the user will have to manually give permission.
The developer documentation for this feature in Android 14 was recently updated. Here, it was stated that the developer needs to make arrangements for full-screen notification display in order for the application to work on Android 14.
