Google is working on a new multi-device sync feature for Android devices, similar to Apple’s Handoff system. The feature, called “App Cast,” was revealed in the 25.25.31 beta version of Google Play Services. Code reviews show that App Cast will allow users to sync apps, media, and notifications between different Android devices connected to their accounts.
Android devices will sync with each other
Similar to the Handoff system that allows Apple users to seamlessly transfer tasks between devices via iCloud, Google is aiming for Android users to seamlessly switch between devices.

Like the App Continuity feature already available on Samsung’s Galaxy devices, Google’s new system will make it easier to answer calls, share files, and sync notifications.
Notification syncing, in particular, will eliminate the hassle of deleting the same notification on different devices for those using multiple devices. It was previously unclear whether this feature would be exclusive to Pixel devices, but with the new code, the possibility of it spreading to all Android devices has increased.
Google’s new multi-device syncing system aims to improve the Android user experience and provide a more integrated use across devices. It is not yet clear when the feature will be available to all users.
