Anthropic’s chatbot, Claude, has gained the ability to optionally recall past conversations. This innovation allows users to continue their projects uninterrupted.
Claude can recall past conversations
The feature is currently available in Claude’s Max, Team, and Enterprise subscription packages and can be accessed by enabling the “Search and reference conversations” option in the “Profile” menu. The system, which works on web, desktop, and mobile platforms, also allows users to manage different projects and workspaces separately.

Claude’s memory function differs from ChatGPT’s automatic persistent memory system. Claude only recalls and references past conversations when the user grants permission. This allows for more controlled use of user data. Anthropic announced that the feature will be available in other subscription packages soon.
While the competition between Anthropic and OpenAI in the field of artificial intelligence continues, memory features are among the key innovations that increase user engagement. These features enable AI chatbots to engage with users in more natural and long-lasting interactions.
Claude’s new memory feature is particularly useful in collaborative projects and long-term discussions. Users can continue using information they provided or topics discussed in previous conversations, saving time and increasing productivity.
Furthermore, its optional nature allows users to maintain privacy control. This reduces concerns about personal data security in AI-based chat applications.
