New models to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
With its recent post, Honor officially announced that the upcoming Magic 6 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. At the same time, a new artificial intelligence assistant called YoYo will also be available on smartphones.
Qualcomm continues its collaboration with TSMC for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Produced with 4 nm architecture, the chipset has 1 3.3 GHz ARM Cortex-X4, 3 3.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A720, 2 3.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A720 and 2 2.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A520 cores. The company includes the Adreno 750 graphics unit with Ray Tracing support in its new product.
The new processor provides a 30 percent performance increase compared to its predecessor. On the other hand, there is a 20 percent increase in energy efficiency. On the other hand, on the graphics side, we see 25 percent faster image processing and 25 percent more energy efficiency. Moreover, it offers 40 percent better Ray Tracing performance.
The new processor will appear with 60 Hz support at 4K resolution. However, it will be able to offer a 144 Hz refresh rate on QHD + screens. The hardware will also offer a quality user experience on the camera side. Because here we see 200 Megapixel support. Moreover, users will be able to record 30 FPS video at 8K HDR settings. The processor has a hardware artificial intelligence feature to improve camera performance. Finally, there is also support for 4800 MHz LPDDR5X RAM up to 24 GB.
