Apple has been accused by the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) of forcing its employees to sign illegal confidentiality agreements, non-compete agreements and non-disclosure agreements. Apple accused of forcing employees to sign illegal contracts

The NLRB alleges that through these contracts, Apple restricted employees’ rights and pressured them not to exercise their rights under federal labor laws. “We strongly dispute these allegations and will continue to share the facts at the hearing,” Apple said in a statement.

In fact, the complaint is based on allegations made by former Apple engineer Ashley Gjovik in 2021. Gjovik alleged that Apple’s privacy and social media policies prevented employees from discussing issues such as pay equity and gender discrimination.

Gjovik also said Apple unlawfully retaliated against him after he filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board over these issues, and so he filed a federal lawsuit in California in May.
