Apple’s long-awaited big day is approaching. The company officially announced today the date of its event, where it will unveil the new iPhone 17 series and Apple Watch models. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 9th, with the slogan “Awe dropping” and will feature an infrared image of the Apple logo. Here are the details…
Devices to be unveiled at Apple’s event
The iPhone 17 is expected to be a major internal update over the iPhone 16 design introduced last year. The iPhone 17 Air will feature a new ultra-thin design with a slightly smaller screen than the iPhone 16 Plus it will replace. Like the iPhone mini, the iPhone Plus is expected to be discontinued in a few years.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will have similar specifications except for the screen size. The Pro models and the Air are expected to feature a redesigned camera system that extends across the width of the rear glass. The iPhone 17 Pro is also expected to be sold at a higher price and with less storage. Following the event, the iPhone 15, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max models are also likely to be discontinued.
Other products Apple is expected to unveil at the event include the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. The company may also unveil the AirPods Pro 3, which haven’t been updated in several years. There’s also talk of a new premium case called TechWoven, which will replace leather. The name “Liquid Silicone” is also being floated for standard silicone cases.
Both official Apple cases are expected to feature lanyard holes on the bottom. We may also see an official Crossbody Strap accessory that uses both lanyard holes to transform the iPhone into a messenger bag. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 9th at 8:00 PM Türkiye time. The event will be pre-recorded at Apple Park in Cupertino and will be available to watch live on apple.com, YouTube, and the Apple TV app.
