The tech giant Apple might bring more ads to iPhone and other Apple devices. The company will launch these ads to more of the pre-installed apps, including Maps, Books, and Podcasts. According to Mark Gurman, Apple aims to triple its annual revenue from its current ad business. Here are the details about Apple’s ads on iPhone and other devices.

Apple expanding Search Ads to Maps app

Mark Gurman reported Apple has already tested search ads in Maps. That means you could see recommendations when you search for restaurants, stores, or other nearby businesses. This system is similar to the App Store Search Ads program according to Gurman. Expanded ads could start launching in the Apple Books and Apple Podcasts soon.

Apple shows ads in the App Store when developers pay for their app promoted on the search page. However, the company could expand the ads to Maps, Apple Books, and Apple Podcasts with this claim. The tech giant could also expand the ads to the main Today tab and third-party app download pages. The ads are currently in the search tab in the suggested panel.

Mark Gurman said, “Inside the ads group, Todd Teresi has talked up expanding the business significantly. It’s generating about $4 billion in revenue annually, and he wants to increase that to the double digits. That means Apple needs to crank up its efforts.”

Currently, Apple gets its ads revenue from a few sources; App Store Search Ads, ads in Apple News, Apple Stocks (the news sections), and a share of commercials during MLB Friday Night Baseball streams. However, the company may launch a new ads program in addition to the new ad units in iOS 16. The new ad units will allow advertisers to place ads on the Today tab in the App Store and at the bottom of product pages for other apps.
