    Apple is losing on China, here’s why

    Technology research firm Counterpoint has revealed the largest smartphone manufacturers in China in the fourth quarter of 2024.

    In recent years, the smartphone market in China has become the center of fierce competition.While a few months ago, US-based Apple was the market leader, recent data shows that this dominance is starting to wane. A new report reveals the biggest smartphone manufacturers in China.

    Technology market research company Counterpoint shared its Chinese smartphone market report for the fourth quarter of 2024. When we look at this report, we see that Huawei has taken the lead with a serious rise. The brand, which holds 18.1 percent of the market, had a hard time due to the sanctions imposed by the US in recent years. The company, which had problems especially on the supply side, almost got out of this situation by emphasizing its own production.

    Xiaomi ranks second on the list with 17.2 percent market share, followed by Apple with 17.1 percent. vivo is in fourth place with 16.3 percent, Honor is fifth with 13.6 percent and OPPO is sixth with 12.5 percent. Other manufacturers have a total share of 5.2 percent.
