Apple Mac sales fall

Technology market research company Canalys shared their report for the third quarter of 2024. According to the report, computer sales increased by 1.3 percent year-on-year to 66.4 million. While laptop sales continue to increase, interest in desktop computers is decreasing.

On the Apple side, there was a noticeable decline. The company’s Mac sales fell by 17.5 percent to 6.2 million units. This figure was 5.1 million in the same quarter last year. Apple’s share in the computer market fell from 9.5 percent to 7.7 percent.

The most important reason for this decline is the new M4 Mac series that Apple is expected to introduce later this month. It is thought that users are refraining from buying existing models because they are waiting for new devices such as iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac mini that will offer more powerful performance.
