The organization redesigned its logo in 2011 to commemorate their 100th anniversary. Apple’s lawyers have filed a lawsuit claiming that the apple in this logo resembles their own symbol.
While accusing Apple of monopolizing anything resembling a fruit, the Swiss association claims that the apple figure is universal. On the other hand, in 2022, the World Intellectual Property Organization granted Apple a partial victory. However, this case has not yet reached a final conclusion. It is a fact that the association’s apple logo resembles Apple’s amblem.
When it comes to its logo, Apple follows a rather aggressive policy. The company previously engaged in a logo dispute with the Prepear company. Following Apple’s complaint, Prepear had to change the shape of the leaf on its amblem, which depicted a pear. By changing the leaf design in its logo, Prepear managed to avoid a possible compensation claim.
