Beats has announced the Powerbeats Pro 2, the latest addition to its sports-focused headphone line-up.A follow-up to the 2019 model, these headphones offer a number of key improvements for sporty uses.
New Powerbeats Pro 2 from Beats for athletes
,One of the most remarkable innovations of Powerbeats Pro 2 is the heart rate monitoring feature. Thanks to the LED optical sensors in each earbud, it can measure blood flow more than 100 times per second, providing users with data during their workouts.
This data can be synchronised with popular fitness apps such as Nike Run Club, Peloton and Open, as well as the Apple Health app. There are also significant design changes. The new Powerbeats Pro 2 is 20 per cent smaller and 33 per cent lighter than its predecessor.
The charging case has also been shrunk by 33 per cent and supports USB Type-C as well as Qi wireless charging. To improve the audio experience, Apple’s H2 chip is included. Thus, it supports active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency mode.
Battery life has also been increased. According to Beats, you can listen to music for up to 8 hours with ANC on and up to 10 hours with ANC off. The charging case offers a total of 36 hours of use with ANC on and 45 hours of use with ANC off.
While the earhook design is retained, the headphones seem to have been made thinner and sleeker. Beats has also included five different silicone tips in the box, from extra small to extra large, to accommodate different ear shapes.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are available for $249. It’s available in four colours: orange, purple, grey and black.
