Apple released its first feature-length 3D animated movie, “Luck”, on Apple TV+. The movie is now available to watch in the US. The Luck is the first 3D animated feature film of Apple. The company collaborated in partnership with Skydance Animation for this movie. Here are the details.
What is Luck about?
The Apple TV+ 3D animated movie “Luck” is about the character of Sam Greenfield (voiced by Eva Noblezada) who is the unluckiest person in the world. She finds herself in the “Land of Luck”, which she has never seen before. Sam partners with a lucky black cat named Bob. She discovers the land and the magical creatures with Bob.
According to Apple TV+’s introduction, “From Skydance Animation and the creative visionary behind Toy Story and Cars comes the tale of Sam Greenfield, the unluckiest person in the world! Sam’s quest to turn her luck around leads to a magical adventure in the never-before-seen Land of Luck.”
Apple looks like it is trying to compete against Pixar for the prestige of top-tier animated movies like Luck. John Lasseter, the writer of Luck, said, “It feels like part of me has come home, I really like what Apple TV+ is doing. It’s about quality, not quantity, and their marketing is just spectacular.” He was working in Disney’s Pixar before Skydance Media.
