At its latest event, dubbed “Awe Drop,” Cupertino-based tech giant Apple unveiled its entry-level smartwatch, the Apple Watch SE 3, alongside new iPhone models. This watch, the successor to the previous model released in 2022, is the third version of the series.
Apple Watch SE 3 Unveiled
Apple’s new base model, this wearable device, typically combines some of the features of flagship models at a more affordable price. The new Apple Watch SE features a faster processor than its predecessor.

The previous SE model launched at a starting price of $249 for the 40mm version and $279 for the 44mm version. This model used the display and design of the older Apple Watch Series 6, but shared the newer S8 processor found in the Series 8 and Ultra watches that were unveiled alongside it.
Apple omitted features like an always-on display and temperature, ECG, and blood oxygen sensors from its new SE 3 model. These features are found in Apple’s premium watch models.
Apple also released the new Watch SE 3 alongside these premium models. The 2025 version of the Apple Watch SE 3 brings new features to Apple’s base model wearable. The new version aims to solidify Apple’s position in the affordable watch category while bringing core smartwatch functions to a wider audience, as in previous generations.
