Apple is refreshing its Apple Watch Ultra series this fall, which hasn’t received a major update since 2023. The new Apple Watch Ultra 3 will launch with three key features in health tracking and connectivity. High blood pressure detection, satellite messaging, and 5G connectivity are among the innovations Apple is introducing for the first time in this series.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 Coming Soon
The most striking feature of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is its system that detects changes in blood pressure and warns users about the risk of hypertension. The watch doesn’t directly measure diastolic or systolic values.

Instead, it detects whether the user is at risk for high blood pressure and provides an informative alert system. This structure works similarly to Apple’s previously developed sleep apnea detection technology, providing guidance without making a diagnosis.
Another notable innovation in the new model is satellite messaging. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 offers this feature independently of the iPhone. Users outside of coverage area can send text messages directly via Globalstar satellites. This system was previously available on some iPhone models, but this will be available as a standalone feature on the Apple Watch for the first time.
With the Ultra 3, Apple is also offering 5G connectivity support for the first time in its watch lineup. However, this support is provided through a power-optimized version of 5G called RedCap (Reduced Capability).
RedCap offers lower data speeds than traditional 5G, but offers advantages such as lower latency and more stable connections. Most importantly, it minimizes battery consumption, allowing the device to stay connected for longer periods outdoors. This feature aims to overcome the limitations of current LTE connections and provide more durable connection performance.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to be unveiled in the fall. The release date, price, and other details are also planned to be announced at the launch. So, what do you think of this device? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
