Apple to Transition to 2nm Processors with iPhone 18 Series
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that the upcoming iPhone 18 series will feature A20 chips based on TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process. Considering that the current iPhone 16 series runs on 3nm Apple A18 and A18 Pro chips, the new processors are expected to provide a faster and more efficient user experience.
However, it remains unclear whether all models will adopt the 2nm chipset or if it will be exclusive to the Pro and Pro Max variants. Apple has been using different processors for its standard and Pro models in recent years, so if this trend continues, the 2026 iPhone 18 lineup may feature 2nm processors only in the Pro versions.
