Apple will allegedly change the screen sizes of its iPhone models in 2024. According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have significantly larger screens. But why does Apple want bigger screens?
iPhone 16 Pro series gets bigger screens
New information from Apple’s factories in China has revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will feature 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively. This marks an increase from the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
While the screen sizes will increase, the thickness of the Pro models will reportedly remain unchanged. However, with the growth of the screen, the dimensions of the device will also expand. It is unclear why Apple would want to change screen sizes with the iPhone 16 after three generations.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will retain the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes. However, reports suggest that Apple may apply larger screen sizes to all of its devices in 2025 with the iPhone 17 series.
According to previous leaks, the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, Pro and Pro Max models will feature the A18 processor. In the operating system, the A18 processor codenamed t8140, Tahiti, is mapped to all models.
It is important to remember that the iPhone 16 launch is still 8-10 months away, which means that plans may change. However, these leaks are an indication that Apple wants to move to larger screen sizes in 2024.
