Apple’s New Head of Hardware Has Been Revealed

Johny Srouji became Apple's new Head of Hardware. After Tim Cook's decision to leave, hardware units were entrusted to Srouji.

Following Tim Cook’s announcement that he will step down from his role as Apple CEO, another important role change took place in the company’s top management. Apple expanded Johny Srouji’s authorities and appointed him to the position of Head of Hardware (Chief Hardware Officer). With this new role, Srouji assumes a much more critical role in the company’s hardware strategies. The decision is seen as a strategic step taken in order to shape Apple’s future hardware vision.

    Srouji’s Expanding Area of Responsibility

Johny Srouji previously served as the Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies. With his new title, he will now manage both the hardware engineering and hardware technologies departments under a single roof.

Before this change, the hardware engineering team was headed by John Ternus, who will sit in the CEO seat as of September 1. Srouji’s comprehensive role aims to make Apple’s processor and hardware development processes more integrated. Tim Cook stated that Srouji played a unique role in Apple’s silicon strategy and left a profound impact across the industry. Cook also emphasized that the team under Srouji’s leadership achieved groundbreaking innovations that transformed products. Joining Apple in 2008, Johny Srouji previously worked in the fields of processor development and design within Intel and IBM. Srouji’s rise within Apple is considered a key factor in the company’s success in producing its own chips.

Other Changes in the Management Team

This huge wave of change at Apple is not limited only to Srouji. Tom Marieb, the current Vice President of Product Integrity, was appointed to the position of Apple’s new chief of hardware engineering.

In his new role, Marieb will report directly to John Ternus. This new structuring aims to increase operational efficiency by rearranging the hierarchy in Apple’s hardware development processes. John Ternus expressed that Srouji is a wonderful partner in the management team and will do extraordinary work in his new role. This new leadership structure of Apple shows the company’s determination to maintain its dominance in the hardware world. These radical changes in the company’s management team are followed with great curiosity in the technology world. How do you think Johny Srouji’s new role will affect the future of Apple products?
