Information obtained from the internal code of an unreleased iOS 26 developer build has revealed Apple’s software plans for the coming years. The leaked code lines offer clear clues about what users can expect in updates starting with iOS 26.4, and continuing through iOS 27 and even iOS 28.
Apple is bringing major innovations
The iOS 26.4 update, expected in the spring of 2026, brings some long-delayed core Apple Intelligence features and new system functions. Siri is finally getting the long-awaited major overhaul.

This AI-powered revamp allows the assistant to execute in-app commands. Siri can perform context-based tasks such as adding items to a third-party app or sending messages through a messaging app using voice commands.
Additionally, with Personal Context Awareness, it scans conversations within the Messages app to find relevant content, and with Screen Awareness, it understands on-screen content and acts as a mediator on behalf of the user.
Additionally, a new “Sports Tier” section focused on exclusive sports content is being added to the Apple TV app, and a new verification system is being implemented to check the integrity of the device before signing in to your Apple Account.
Next year’s major update, iOS 27, brings a significant overhaul to the Health app. Lines of code indicate a new layout for categories and a structure that simplifies metric entry.
The app transforms into an AI health assistant, offering features such as personalized, AI-powered health coaching and nutrition tracking. This update also hints at a new system for a smoother pairing experience for AirPods and improvements to the collections system in the Photos app.
iOS 28 focuses on expanding health tracking features across the ecosystem. This update adds new metrics to the Apple Watch sleep tracking feature, including time spent in bed.
One of the most significant developments is the planned arrival of the Health app on Mac computers with macOS 28. This demonstrates Apple’s goal of managing and expanding health data holistically across all devices.
