The VENOM LR automatic cannon and 12.7 mm M2 QCB machine gun, produced by CANiK, a subsidiary of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Group), have been integrated into armored land vehicles developed by FNSS. These integrated domestic weapon systems are being unveiled to the public at the IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Fair. This integration, achieved through the collaboration of FNSS and CANiK, demonstrates the coordinated production capacity achieved by the Turkish defense industry in platform, weapon, and turret systems.
FNSS armored vehicles receive CANiK VENOM LR support
The VENOM LR stands out as a 30×113 mm caliber automatic cannon system. Its technical features, such as low recoil and adjustable rate of fire, offer flexibility for integration into various platforms.

The VENOM LR is making its debut in the SANCAK 30 Remote Controlled Turret (RCT) mounted on FNSS’s PARS 4×4 Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle, and the ÇAKA 30 AT-O Long-Range Anti-Tank Turrets integrated onto the ZAHA Amphibious Armored Assault Vehicle. Various variants of the same system, adapted to various mission types, are being presented to visitors at the fair.
The entire turret and vehicle platforms, including the weapon system, were designed and manufactured in Turkey. These developed solutions demonstrate the competence of the domestic defense industry as one of the steps taken to reduce external dependency.
Cahit Utku Aral, General Manager of SYS Group, stated that the VENOM LR is a product of a joint production ecosystem formed by various components of the Turkish defense industry. Aral stated that the system is configured to directly respond to operational requirements not only in Turkey but also in the global market.
FNSS CEO Nail Kurt announced that the turret systems, from the sight unit and fire control software to the motion control system and weapon integration, are entirely domestically produced. According to Kurt, the CANiK-produced 12.7 mm M2 QCB machine gun will serve as a coaxial weapon in the TEBER-II 30/40 two-man turret, along with the VENOM LR, and as the main weapon in the ÇAKA AT-K short-range anti-tank turret.
These systems, designed to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, are designed for use in both land and amphibious operations. The VENOM LR is planned to be a versatile platform capable of performing tasks in forward surveillance, UAV countermeasures, and special forces operations. Furthermore, FNSS platforms such as the PARS 4×4 and ZAHA, into which the system is integrated, are currently being actively promoted in international markets.
Integrating domestic and national elements at this level and opening them up to global competition is considered part of Turkey’s vision for sustainable growth in defense industry exports. SYS Group stated that these collaborations will continue across more vehicles and platforms in the coming period, and that the product range will be expanded with adaptations to meet different user needs.
