Asus isn’t slowing down. Less than a month after refreshing the ProArt P16 with an RTX 5090, the company has quietly introduced another variant, this time with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, but no compromise on memory or storage.
Asus ProArt P16 RTX 5080 retains top-tier specs

The new configuration matches the RTX 5090 version in nearly every area. It still comes with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, 64 GB of RAM, and up to 4 TB of SSD storage. The only shift? A more affordable graphics card.
According to recent benchmarks, the RTX 5080 trails the RTX 5090 by about 10% in performance. But for creatives who don’t need the absolute ceiling of GPU power, that trade-off might be worth it. Especially when the price drops over 13% compared to the RTX 5090 build.
Price difference matters more than power gap
Here’s a quick look at the current pricing for both options in China:
- RTX 5090 model: CNY 29,999 (~$4,218)
- RTX 5080 model: CNY 25,999 (~$3,655)
Both ship with identical processors, memory, and chassis. For reference, the U.S. listing for the RTX 5090 version starts at $3,999.99, though it only includes 2 TB of storage. Asus hasn’t confirmed whether the RTX 5080 model will arrive outside of China, but a broader rollout feels likely.
Asus ProArt P16 lineup keeps expanding
This latest ProArt refresh follows a steady wave of updates. Earlier this year, Asus released RTX 5060 and 5070 versions of the 16-inch powerhouse. Now, the upper end of the stack is filling out with smarter pricing options.
While Asus hasn’t issued an official global press release for the RTX 5080 model, it’s unlikely the company will keep this configuration locked to China for long.
Asus signals flexibility with ProArt P16 refresh
Rather than locking creators into one high-cost build, Asus is widening the path. The ProArt P16 RTX 5080 isn’t just a cheaper version—it’s a calculated answer to professionals who want maximum RAM and storage without maxing out the GPU bill. And that choice? It’s long overdue.
