Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 Launches at $3,999, Limited to 1,000 Units Worldwide

Asus launches the $3,999 ROG Matrix RTX 5090 only 1,000 units will be made, targeting collectors and hardcore GPU fans.

Asus just dropped its most outrageous GPU yet. The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 is now available for pre-order in the US for a jaw-dropping $3,999 twice the price of Nvidia’s own reference card. But since Asus is making only 1,000 units, this product isn’t just about performance. It’s about prestige.

Asus isn’t pretending this card is for average gamers. At $4,000, it’s more expensive than some full desktops with the same chip. Instead, the Matrix 5090 is aimed at collectors, hardcore PC builders, and anyone willing to pay for a piece of limited-run GPU history. With only 1,000 units produced, exclusivity is baked into the price.

Buyers also get bonus collectibles, including a set of 30th-anniversary ROG playing cards. And yes, some of these will end up sealed in display cases rather than inside gaming rigs.

The specs are wild, but the cooling is what really pushes this card into ultra-luxury territory. Asus packed in:

    • A quad-fan layout with 20% more airflow
    • Copper vapor chamber for heat transfer
    • Liquid metal thermal interface
    • 3 oz copper PCB for efficient power delivery

It doesn’t stop there. Features like Memory Defroster (for sub-zero overclocking), Aura Sync RGB, and GPU Tweak III add more polish to an already overbuilt machine.

Underneath all that thermal engineering is a top-tier chip ready to push frames at any resolution:

    • 32 GB of GDDR7 memory
    • 21,760 CUDA cores
    • Boost clock up to 2,760 MHz

The Matrix version targets users who want to squeeze out every possible frame and do it with flair, even though the standard RTX 5090 already handles 4K gaming with ease.

Asus already made headlines earlier this year with its gold-plated Dhahab edition. The Matrix feels like the next chapter in that playbook where technical muscle meets luxury packaging.

It’s not cheap, it’s not subtle, and it’s not meant to be. But for those who want the rarest RTX 5090 on the market and have the wallet to match the ROG Matrix is already up for grabs.

Just don’t expect to find one once all 1,000 are gone.
