Atari announced a new smartwatch model that appeals to game lovers. Introduced under the name Atari 2600 My Play Watch, the watch stands out with its ability to play classic Atari games. Supporting legendary games such as Centipede, Pong, Super Breakout and Missile Command, the device offers a nostalgic experience with Atari 2600-themed graphics and sound effects. The product was met with great excitement, especially by gamers.
Atari develops smartwatch for gamers
The Atari 2600 My Play Watch comes with a 2.02-inch touchscreen display, metal body, rotary dial and a physical button. Preserving the retro aesthetics, the device will come with three different interchangeable strap options.

Positioned as a model focused on entertainment and nostalgia instead of functionality among smartwatches, the product also includes basic health and activity tracking features. While functions such as step counter, calorie calculation and heart rate monitor are offered, there is no Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection. Therefore, the watch cannot be integrated with smartphones and cannot download new apps or games.
Atari 2600 My Play Watch is now available for pre-order at Atari’s online store with a price tag of $80. Planned to be released on 10 June, the device stands out as a remarkable alternative for retro game lovers despite its limited features.
