The Battlefield 6 Beta has opened to the public and quickly hit a peak of over 470,000 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB. With one more day in the current testing period, it could easily push past the 500,000 mark. The popularity comes with in-game rewards: players this weekend unlock skins, weapon packs, stickers, and a custom player card background, while next weekend’s sessions promise more cosmetic gear.

EA’s new kernel-level anti-cheat, Javelin, requires SecureBoot to be enabled on PC. That hasn’t stopped cheaters from trying, but it has stopped a lot of them. Since early access began, the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team reported:

    • 330,000 cheat attempts blocked
    • 44,000 player reports on day one
    • 60,000 additional reports the next day

The data is feeding EA’s Gameplay Integrity and Positive Play teams, who are already removing confirmed offenders.

The dev team says SecureBoot isn’t a magic fix but is another layer in the defense stack. It lets Javelin trust certain detection signals that are harder to spoof, making cheat creation riskier and easier to catch.

Weekend one rewards include the Seeker Soldier skin, All-Terrain Soldier skin, Dominion weapon pack, two weapon stickers, and the Lights Out player card. Weekend two brings the War Machine vehicle skin, Striking Distance weapon pack, and the Bat Company dog tag.

The strong Beta turnout and aggressive anti-cheat stance set the tone ahead of Battlefield 6’s full release on October 10. EA appears determined to keep matches competitive and clean, with cheaters facing swift action when the game goes live.
