Through this collaboration, BMW and Tata Technologies will focus on strategic software solutions, particularly for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The main areas of operation for the joint venture will be located in Bangalore and Pune, with Chennai focusing on corporate IT solutions.
The partnership between BMW and Tata initially involves the employment of 100 professionals from Tata Technologies, with expectations for this number to increase in the coming years. The collaboration will focus on areas such as autonomous driving, infotainment systems, and the development of digital services.
Furthermore, it will contribute to improving product development, production, and sales processes through digitalization and automation. Christoph Grote, Senior Vice President of BMW Group, stated that this partnership will accelerate BMW’s progress in the software-defined vehicle domain.
