BYD’s off-road vehicle-focused brand Fang Cheng Bao aims to strengthen its presence in the market with the new Bao 8 model. The vehicle, which was first unveiled in the summer period, will finally be offered for sale in the Chinese market. Here are BYD Fang Cheng Bao 8 features and price.

Bao 8 has features to meet the expectations of off-road enthusiasts. Accordingly, with a length of 5.2 metres, a ground clearance of up to 310 mm and a maximum power output of 737 horsepower, it has the capacity to be suitable for off-road conditions. The DiSus-P suspension system increases off-road capabilities with 34-degree approach and 35-degree departure angles.
Bao 8’s exterior design blends standard SUV elements with modern lines. It features a tough look with blacked-out pillars, large bumpers and angular fenders. Hidden door handles, LiDAR sensor and bright front grille also add a modern touch.
The interior of the Bao 8 features a three-screen centre console with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel, a 17.3-inch driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. A 50-inch augmented reality head-up display enhances the driving experience, while Huawei UWB car key support is available. It also integrates with Huawei apps.
Equipped with BYD’s DMO powertrain, the Bao 8 has a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 2-litre internal combustion engine with two electric motors. This system provides a power output of 737 horsepower, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. The 36.8 kWh LFP battery promises an electric range of 100 km (WLTC) and a combined range of 1200 km.
Bao 8 is offered with prices starting from approximately 52 thousand dollars with different equipment levels. It is possible to say that the largest 6-seater version goes up to 56 thousand dollars.
