It was revealed that Crytek was working on a spin-off project before the Crysis 4 announcement. It was allegedly going to be called Crysis Next and it was going to be multiplayer. Although the project is now shelved, gameplay footage has leaked online.

The leaked video promises a gameplay that is quite different from the roots of the Crysis series. Accordingly, the game features a third-person camera and class-based gameplay. Three different classes are shown as Frontliner, Technician and Flanker.
