A technology market research company, IDC, shared its report on the foldable smartphone market in China for 2024. According to the report, 9.17 million units were sold in the past 12 months, marking a 30.8% increase compared to the previous year. This indicates that foldable smartphones are becoming more widespread, though the high prices have slowed down the adoption process.

According to the report, Huawei remains the largest foldable smartphone producer in China, holding nearly half of the market with a 48.6% market share. In second place is Honor, with a market share of 20.6%. It is important to note that Honor was once a part of Huawei but was sold in 2019 after the U.S. sanctions were imposed.
The third-largest foldable phone maker is vivo, with an 11.1% market share, followed by Xiaomi with 7.4%, and OPPO with 5.3%. The remaining 7% is made up of other brands.
