Announcements for competitions related to renewable energy resource areas (YEKA) and the allocation of connection capacities based on solar and wind energy have been published in the Official Gazette. An additional 2,000 MW of capacity will be offered to investors through a total of 16 competitions. Applications for solar will be accepted on November 4th, and for wind on November 18th.
Announced in Izmir
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced the new capacity allocations under the YEKA program at the Wind Energy Congress held in Izmir last week. Minister Bayraktar emphasized that they aim to reach 120,000 megawatts of installed capacity in wind and solar energy by 2035 and that they will hold competitions for 2,000 megawatts of solar and wind power plants annually until 2035.

Following this announcement, the 2025 YEKA competitions were announced in the Official Gazette. The YEKA Solar Power Plant-2025 competition will hold 10 competitions for a total connection capacity of 850 MWe. The YEKA Solar Power Plant-2025 competition will hold six competitions for a total connection capacity of 1,150 MWe.
Application Period: November
Applications for the Solar Power Plant competitions will be accepted on November 4th between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, and for the Wind Power Plant competitions on November 18th between the same hours. The location, dates, and times of the competitions will be announced on the Ministry’s website.
Who is Eligible?
Legal entities established as joint stock or limited companies under the Turkish Commercial Code, joint ventures, and foreign companies with capital company status are eligible to apply.
Ceiling and Floor Prices
The starting ceiling price for the 16 competitions will be 5.50 Eurocents/kWh. The floor price for Solar Power Plants is 3.25 Eurocents/kWh, and for Wind Power Plants is 3.50 Eurocents/kWh. If the base price is reached in all competitions, the starting price for the contribution fee increase per MW will be €10,000.
Free Market Sales
Electricity generated by solar power plants can be sold on the free market for 60 months from the contract signing date, and for wind power plants, for 72 months. After the free market sales period ends, a 20-year electricity purchase period will begin for both solar power plants and wind power plants.
