Samsung, continuing its efforts to expand its share in the foldable phone market, has achieved significant sales numbers with the Galaxy Z Flip series. The South Korean manufacturer introduced the Z Flip 4 last year and has made significant progress on its successor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as of 2023. Most recently, a live image of the foldable phone was shared, indirectly confirming a long-standing rumor.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be the largest Flip model with a cover display
The first details about the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 were shared a few months ago by Ice Universe, known for leaks in the industry. According to the leaks, the smartphone will feature a notched outer display with a size of 3.4 inches, making it the largest cover display in any Flip model to date.
While the live image of the foldable phone was shared recently, it indirectly confirmed the claims about the cover display. The Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G were introduced with a tiny 1.1-inch cover display. In the Z Flip 3, released by the South Korean manufacturer in 2021, a 1.9-inch external display was preferred. With the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5, the cover display will grow for the second time in the series’ history, reaching around 3.4 inches.
