Google is preparing to make a significant update to Gemini’s file analysis capabilities. According to leaked reports, the file upload interface for Gemini will undergo a complete redesign. The new design will feature a much larger layout, providing a better user experience.

The current Gemini interface, which offers file selection options in a small pop-up window, will be expanded to almost completely cover the bottom half of the screen. This updated interface will include four large buttons to help users navigate more efficiently.

These buttons will allow users to open the camera to take photos, access the gallery to select images, find files on their device, or access documents stored on Google Drive. This means that different types of files will be scanned together.
However, the changes are not limited to the interface design. The new interface will also introduce two new options called “Deep Research” and “Composer.” Deep Research will provide access to Gemini’s tool previously released for Android, allowing users to conduct comprehensive research.
“Composer,” on the other hand, is a completely new feature. According to the code in the beta version, this feature will assist users with both document scanning and coding processes. Both new options are currently inactive and appear in grey, indicating that they are still in the testing phase.
