It has emerged that Apple is planning to integrate Google’s Gemini into its AI-powered Apple Intelligence system. Currently, Siri can route certain queries to ChatGPT, but Apple is considering adding support for other AI models in the future. So what will come out of this merger? What does this mean for iPhone users?
Apple’s AI strategy is changing: Apple plans to integrate Google Gemini into Apple Intelligence!
Craig Federighi, the head of Apple’s software team, said at the WWDC event in 2024 that Apple Intelligence will be developed to work with different artificial intelligence models. Codes discovered in iOS 18.4 Beta confirm that Apple is preparing to support Google Gemini and OpenAI models.

Apple is expected to offer this integration in future updates to iOS 18 or directly in iOS 19. The company is also rumored to be developing its own independent large language model (LLM) for Siri. Samsung announced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event in January that Gemini AI will be integrated into the Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9 series.
With the integration of Apple Intelligence and Gemini, users will be able to use Gemini as a more comprehensive artificial intelligence assistant. It won’t be a surprise if Apple adopts a similar model and starts integrating Gemini into its system.
In short, we can say that the company will follow a more flexible strategy by offering third-party solutions such as ChatGPT and Gemini to its users while developing its own artificial intelligence model.
