In October, Apple introduced the new M2 iPad Pro alongside pointing to the clue in the teaser, DaVinci Resolve on iPad. Now, the tech giant has finally released the popular professional video editor “DaVinci Resolve” to the iPadOS. The application is now available on the App Store. Thanks to the new video editor, the iPad has now desktop-level tools for editing videos. Here are the details about DaVinci Resolve.

What is DaVinci Resolve?

The popular professional video editor has been available for macOS, Windows, and Linux for a long time, and now it is released to iPad users. The editor has a lot of opportunities like editing tools combined with advanced color correction adjustments. This application makes iPads more professional and useful for editing videos.

DaVinci Resolve offers several features on iPad, especially the tools that can be used in the desktop version. Users can now create a new project or import existing ones from the desktop to their adapted iPad’s touch screen. The software comes with Cut Page, Source Tape, Fast Review, Sync Bin, and more features for iPadOS. Additionally, there are options for the contrast, temperature, mid-tones, and saturation of videos.

While users also have some AI-powered features on the app, the company explains them, “DaVinci Resolve features cutting edge AI processing powered by the DaVinci Neural Engine. Tools such as magic masks need only a single stroke to locate and track people, features, and objects in a shot. You can make characters stand out in an underlit shot, or invert the person mask and stylize the background.”

The brand also adds, “Smart reframe repurposes footage to dramatically different aspect ratios by recognizing the action in a scene and panning within it, so you can quickly create a square or vertical versions for posting to social media. Voice isolation lets you easily remove loud, undesirable sounds from interviews and dialogue recordings from noisy locations. AI tools create quick, accurate results, saving you hours of time!”

Is DaVinci Resolve compatible with my iPad?

DaVinci Resolve is compatible with any iPad model that runs iPadOS 16. Even though it can work with any iPad, it is recommended that using the app on iPad models with an M1 chip or later will be better to have a great experience, and some features such as external display support and ProRes require the M1 chip or later.

The video editor is free on the App Store, but you need to purchase it for $94.99 to unlock the full version of the app. What do you think about the DaVinci Resolve? You can share your thoughts in the comments.
