The highly anticipated vivo X Fold 5 will officially launch in China on June 25, with a global debut scheduled for July 10. According to the latest reports, the device will measure just 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded, making it even thinner than the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to be 4.54mm thick when opened.
Recent renders of the X Fold 5 reveal a noticeable design choice: the USB-C port protrudes slightly from the body, a detail that stands out in its otherwise sleek form factor. Still, the images offer a clear and complete look at the phone, leaving no room for speculation regarding its design.
What to Expect from the vivo X Fold 5
Despite its ultra-thin profile, vivo appears to be making no compromises on battery life. The X Fold 5 is said to pack a sizable 6,000mAh battery and will support 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Interestingly, even with the larger battery, the phone is expected to be lighter than its predecessor, dropping from 219 grams to just 209 grams.
Under the hood, the foldable will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It was recently spotted on Geekbench under the model number V2436A, where it was listed with 16GB of RAM. It’s also expected to ship with Android 15 out of the box.
The vivo X Fold 5 will feature an 8.03-inch inner display and a 6.53-inch cover screen. Both displays use advanced 8T LTPO panels and support high-frequency PWM dimming at full brightness. Additionally, the device will come with IPX9 water resistance and IPX5 dust resistance certifications, making it one of the most durable foldables to date.
