Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, announced that the defense and aerospace industry exported $989.6 million in July 2025. This figure marked the highest monthly export value in the history of the Turkish defense industry. The previous record was $879 million, set in May 2024.
The defense industry broke an export record in July
July exports, which increased by 128.4 percent compared to July of last year, demonstrated that the defense and aerospace sector continues its upward trend in exports. Total exports between January and July 2025 reached $4.591 billion, representing a 38.6 percent increase year-over-year.

Monthly export figures showed a steady increase throughout the year. Exports reached $383 million in January, $434 million in February, $884.2 million in March, $539 million in April, $741 million in May, and $623 million in June. The nearly $1 billion in exports in July represents the peak of this momentum.
The 2025 Presidential Annual Program projects the defense and aerospace industry to reach $7.3 billion in export revenue by the end of the year. 2024 closed with $7.15 billion in revenue. Haluk Görgün announced in a statement in May that he expected a performance above this target. Görgün’s forecast at the time was for annual export revenue between $8 and $8.5 billion.
Export growth is believed to be driven by strategies based on product diversity, platform-based solutions, and system exports. Görgün stated in his statement that these developments are the tangible results of sustainable production and export policies.
With the July data, the defense and aerospace sector has crossed another important threshold towards exceeding its 2025 targets.
