A new research note by analyst Jeff Pu has revealed Apple’s product plans for early 2026. Based on signals from the supply chain, Pu details the updates Apple will make to its affordable iPhone lineup and other entry-level devices.
iPhone 17e: Dynamic Island and Improved Camera on the Way
According to Pu, the iPhone 17e is expected to arrive in early 2026 as the successor to the iPhone 16e. One of the most significant changes in this model could be an 18-megapixel front camera with Center Stage, matching the one in the main iPhone 17 series.

The device will also reportedly run on the A19 chip, narrowing the performance gap between Apple’s budget and flagship offerings. The report also indicates that Apple may use a Dynamic Island design in place of the notch on the iPhone 17e, marking the first time this design has been featured on an “e” model.
Connectivity upgrades could include Apple’s C1 modem and the N1 wireless chip, which are said to improve peer-to-peer transfers and energy efficiency. These updates point to a more feature-rich positioning for Apple’s most affordable iPhone. A previous leak revealed that the iPhone 17e will feature a 6.1-inch OLED 60Hz display with a Dynamic Island design and retain the 48-megapixel rear camera.
Pu’s note also mentions an entry-level MacBook aimed at students and budget-conscious buyers. The laptop is expected to have a 13-inch display, use the A18 Pro chip, and come in multiple colors. Pricing is projected to range from $699 to $899, but Pu hints that some hardware compromises may be necessary to reach that price range.
Meanwhile, a 12th-generation iPad is also reportedly planned. This tablet is said to retain its familiar design but switch to the A18 chip. This upgrade will enable Apple Intelligence features on the base iPad for the first time.
