Star Wars: The Acolyte didn’t live up to expectations
Giving a wide-ranging interview on projects on Disney’s broadcast platforms, Alan Bergman stated that The Acolyte series was actually a success. However, he stated that expectations were not met financially and said: ‘We were pleased with the performance of The Acolyte, but when we looked at the cost structure, we realised that we were not at the level required to shoot a second season. That’s why we didn’t decide to continue.’
Bergman also hinted at new Star Wars projects for Disney+. He stated that no clear decision has yet been made for Skeleton Crew, which is currently airing: ‘Skeleton Crew is early in the process. We’ve seen some signs of growth, but we need a little more time to see how it progresses. Nevertheless, the criticisms are quite positive.’

Talking about plans for 2025, Bergman stated that the second season of the Andor series has already been completed and is eagerly awaited.
