Donald Trump, who won the U.S. presidential election, made a statement during a rally in Washington D.C. that resonated in the tech world. Trump claimed that he had spoken with Apple CEO Tim Cook, who told him that Apple would make a significant investment in the U.S. Here are Trump’s remarks about Apple and Cook:
Will Apple get closer to the Trump administration?
Trump’s comments have drawn attention, particularly with major tech companies reaching out to him recently. Figures such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Alphabet (Google’s parent company) CEO Sundar Pichai met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Apple’s involvement in this process suggests that tech giants may be working to establish closer ties with the Trump administration.

Trump attributed Apple’s investment decision to his election victory, claiming that the company would initiate large-scale manufacturing in the U.S. However, a similar situation occurred in 2017 when Trump stated that Apple would build three large factories in the U.S., only for Apple to later clarify that no such plans existed.
Despite Trump’s claims, Apple has not made any official statements. According to a report by Fox Business News, it remains unclear whether Cook made such a promise to Trump. What stands out this time, however, is the indication that Apple and other major tech firms might engage in greater collaboration with the Trump administration.
Are tech giants’ efforts to connect with Trump a strategy to protect their interests, or are they laying the groundwork for mutually beneficial cooperation? The answer to this question will become clearer in the near future.
