The electric G-Class operates with four electric motors, one for each wheel. This new G-Class, named G 580 with EQ Technology, features a 116 kWh battery and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers in 4.7 seconds.

New G-Class features like G-Turn and G-Cornering attract attention. G-Turn allows the vehicle to rotate on its axis, while G-Cornering improves handling by reducing the speed of the inner rear wheels during tight turns. The battery is protected by a 1-inch-thick guard plate and weighs 57.6 kilograms.

- Environmental Sustainability: Being electric, it has zero emissions and aligns with Mercedes’ sustainability goals.

The battery technology does not use the silicone-anode technology from Mercedes’ partnership with Sila, but is advanced in durability and efficiency. The electric G-Class can move through water 5.9 inches deeper than other G-Class models thanks to its waterproof feature. The starting price for the Mercedes-Benz electric G-Class SUV is estimated to be around $180,000.
Mercedes-Benz is opening a new chapter in the electric SUV market with the electric G-Class. CEO Ola Källenius noted that demand for electric vehicles varies across regions. However, Mercedes will begin delivering the electric G-Class in 2024.
