X really wants you to forget about Twitter. This includes old terms of service. Users started seeing pop-ups about the new terms that will go into effect on September 29. With the new regulation, the word “retweet” used to republish is becoming a thing of the past.
Twitter continues to cause trouble for Elon Musk!
In the new terms, the word “Twitter” was almost completely removed. There are also a number of other branding changes in favor of the X. I say almost wholesale. Because, hilariously, the term Twitter still appears in the URLs of the terms. Somehow, the Twitter name gets around to Musk’s feet.
Musk wants to completely switch to URLs starring X’s new name. However, it seems that Twitter will continue to circulate for a while. It should be noted that X.com still redirects to twitter.com. In addition, the new regulation removed references to Periscope, the live broadcast application that Twitter closed in 2021.
There are a few more updates to the terms. One of these is waiving the right to participate in the class action as a plaintiff or class member by using X. As it can be understood from this, it is obvious that Elon Musk does not prefer X shares to be used as evidence in courts.
Also, X plans to implement a new privacy policy on September 29. The new policy will expand the amount of data it collects on users, including biometric data and employment history, it said. This data can provide a source for artificial intelligence.
Another innovation of X is the kind that Elon Musk will not like very much. Scanning the services with the browser and extracting data without prior written permission was strictly prohibited. However, with the new update, it will be considered legally allowed when the provisions of the robots.txt file are followed. Estimates suggest that such permission is not granted by X very often.
