Tesla, Elon Musk’s electric car company, recently launched the updated Model Y in China, where it has been met with great interest. The vehicle, initially released in this Asian country, quickly gained traction, and according to Chinese sources, it set a sales record for Tesla Model Y within just five days.
Updated Tesla Model Y Receives Huge Attention in the Chinese Market
According to Chinese news outlet Jiemian, Tesla’s updated Model Y received over 70,000 pre-orders within the first five days of the pre-order process, marking a significant success. It can be said that this success has brought smiles to the faces at Tesla.

The updated Tesla Model Y comes in two versions: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and long-range all-wheel drive (AWD). The prices for these two variants are ¥263,500 (about $36,340) for the RWD and ¥303,500 (about $41,850) for the AWD version. Deliveries are expected to begin in March.
According to the information, the car is being produced at Tesla’s Shanghai factory. Tesla engineers in China have focused on the exterior and interior design, while employees in the US have worked on software development.
